Safety and Health Policy
It is the policy of FMT Shipyard & Repair to conduct its business in a manner that minimizes the risks relating to personal safety and occupational health. Consistent with this, management is committed to plan and execute its activities in a manner that meets or exceeds regulatory, industry and customer standards for shipyard operations.
FMT Shipyard is committed to:
- Striving for zero incidents relating to safety and occupational health
- Striving for zero regulatory notices of violations
- A pro-active approach to the identification and control of safety and occupational health risks
- Identifying and managing safety and health risks to employees, contractors, visitors and the public
- Continuously learning and improving our processes to achieve our safety and health goals
- The establishment and maintenance of documented procedures, drills and exercises to help prevent incidents and to be prepared for those that may occur
- Effectively engaging our employees in occupational health and safety activities to increase the effectiveness of our processes
Every employee has the responsibility, and will be held accountable, for working in a safe manner, including conforming to policies, procedures, laws and regulations.
Management reviews the suitability of this policy and our occupational health and safety objectives at least annually.
